The Arts Council for Wyoming County is thrilled to be part of the international celebration of Make Music Day! Travel throughout the county and see music throughout the county. All events are free and open to the public.
All Day
Piano Lessons at the Arts Council for Wyoming County, 31 South Main Street, Perry, NY 14530
Are you a piano teacher who would like to take advantage of a twin piano situation? Or are you a college student who needs to practice? Have you ever drummed? Have you ever drummed in a field surrounded by baby cows and strawberry fields? Join Jackie Hoyt in an interactive drum circle – where she will provide you a drum and teach you how to drum. Start the summer right – with a drum and then pick some strawberries!
Lunch

Have you ever drummed? Have you ever drummed by Oatka Creek during your lunch break? Join Jackie Hoyt in an interactive drum circle – where she will provide you a drum and teach you how to drum. Start the summer right – with a drum and then have some ice cream!

Blues and folk guitarist Ernie Lawrence will be playing among the strawberry fields at noon. Join him and listen to blues classics and signalong!
1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Larry Hoyt Harmonica at Warsaw Public Library, 130 N Main St, Warsaw, NY 14569
June 21 is the day you can be gifted a Harmonica, a tune book, a free lesson, and leave a virtuoso. Larry Hoyt will be teaching his introduction to Harmonica lesson – as well as answer any of your harmonica questions. Join him at the Warsaw Library! Thanks to Hohner Harmonica for donating harmonicas to Make Music Day!
2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Folk o’ the Road at Burley Berries & Blooms, 6335 Route 20A E, Warsaw, NY 14569
Wyoming County’s own Folk o’ the Road will be playing there interactive and signalong music among the strawberry fields at Burley Berries and Blooms.
Evening
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Ernie Lawrence at Bibliotech Cafe, 2 North Main Street, Perry, NY 14530
Blues and folk guitarist Ernie Lawrence will be playing one of the most iconic Main Streets in Wyoming County – home of our great county fair, Pike! Join him and listen to blues classics and signalong!
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Wyoming County Musician Jam featuring Balus Scholars at Gainesville Library, 10 Church St, Silver Springs, NY 14550
Calling all musicians – come celebrate the summer (and many summer vacations for our college students!) by coming together for a jam at Gainesville Library. We’ll bring some sheet music and you bring your instrument and just play some music!!
6 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Folk O’ the Road at Perry Public Library, 70 N Main St, Perry, NY 14530
Wyoming County’s own Folk o’ the Road will be playing there interactive and signalong music among the Lemuel M. Wiles masterpieces in the art gallery at the Perry Public Library.
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Jackie Hoyt Drum Circle at Cordelia A. Greene Library, 11 S Main St, Castile, NY 14427

Fretmonkey guitarist and Perryite Mark Grover will host his popular open mic night at the Silver Lake Brewing Project. You may remember our January “Biscuits and Jams,” this is our Summer version! Come celebrate Make Music Day in the best way possible – getting up and singing yourself!
